There was always an admiring gaze
cast to you – bouncing back to me
However, remaining separate in our universes
All this time
Until
We gripped each others boxes
Eager to see their contents
We threw them to the floor
Rearranging the items we found
Something with a gentle structure
Not too orderly
Suggesting movement
Playfully composing
Armies of seedpods and pencils
We set the train on its’ track
Gingerly picking off the obstacles
Saying ‘no’ to the wrong kind of snow
In for a penny
