Ponder a thought, from the mind's depths unlocked, unfazed by a hard, endless wander
Of death yet unmet, fresh-penned letters unsent, your regrets ride the wind over yonder.
Was this travel in vain? Coalesced, ardent pain and the goal an ephemeral notion
But trudged along still, valleyed plains, mountained hills, as a priest of unearthly devotion.
Kept holy in strife, the true cost of a life, this crusade that is shared by all born
What we've done, what remains, our eternal refrain to be sung by those left as they mourn.
