I spent all night watching you,
among the vines and bushes.
I spent the following night
sitting here, just watching the
tide roll in.
Now i'm feeling semi-over you
thought i'd say a few words
to pull a rake through the embers babe
&; get them glowing again.
After a while
I'll breathe out again.
After a while
I'll be that free again.
In the drunken dawn my feet are chilled
and mist encircles the top of my head.
There's herald of loss on the radio
someone wrote, 'I can let go now.'
I guess I treat rejection
like the sting of an injection &;
gloss over them both with alcohol.
I need an antidote to make me
immune to what you are.
After a while
I'll breathe out again
After a while
I'll be that free again
Lovely devil
were your friends the engine of your decision?
Got no relief for days
stomach feels like the lining has burned away.
Your personality and speech
hover around me and takes skin when they leave
- like mosquitoes.
After a while
I'll breathe out again.
After a while
I'll be that free again.
