As The Rain Falls

As I watch the rain fall
I think of my Savior and
The tears begin to fall
I think of what he did for me
How He loved me so much
That he died for me
My soul cries each day
When I see that the world has forgotten
What he did that day
I think of the Savior that died two thousand years ago
The Savior that gave us everlasting life
I see Him on the hillside
An expression of pain upon his face
But as I gaze into his eyes
The pain I see is only his love for us
I can see the crown of thorns
The spear in His side,
&; The blood streaming down
I can see the clouds in the distance
Lighting flashes, thunder roars,
&; the earth begins to shake
I stop to hear the words He says
Father forgive them
They know not what they do
While the tears still fall
I think of how He loved me, forgave me,
And set me free
