Miss. Bee
Chapter (2)
George thought, "where did that old man put Miss. Bee?" I wished I
could have
helped her. But, I couldn't get her over the fence. I hope she doesn't
die she, was in
bad shape. I would have liked to clawed that old mans eyes out
especially when he
stuffed her in that bag. I know in my heart she's got to be close by.
But, "where is
she?!"
********
Miss. Bee woke up to a pouring down rain. Oh! I hurt all over! I wish I
could get on
my feet. I'm so cold! She raised her head, and thought she heard
something moving
in the bushes.
"Oh, no" it's the old coonhound that lives up on the hill above my
house. He has a
good nose. I'm sure he will pick up my scent. She watched him run up
the hill, and
down the hill with his nose close to the ground. "He's leaving," she
thought, and
sighed.
*********
"I am soak, and wet" George, thought. I guess I'll go home, and wait
out this rain.
He leaped up on the porch, and rolled over, and over on his old
blanket; his master
had laid down for him. He leaped up on the porch railing, and stared
out into the
rain. He thought, "girl" if you are still alive you, hang on I, will
find you!
********
Miss. Bee, laid her head down, and groaned. She was about to drift off
to sleep;
when the coonhound stuck his nose under the log. He started barking to
no end on,
and, on. Miss. Bee thought, "shut up that screaming." My head hurts!
The dog
stuck his paw under the log. She clawed his paw. He gave out a yelp!
But it didn't
seem to faze him. Miss. Bee could feel his breath on her. She knew if
he got to her,
he would tear her apart. She was in no shape to fight him.
*******
George woke to thunder, he thought, "I hope you are in the dry Miss.
Bee." We are
in for a gully washer tonight. I gotta get out of here, and find her. I
can't just lay
here in the dry knowing she is out there alone. He gave a big leap into
the pour
down rain.
George thought, "maybe I should head toward the forest." I remember
Miss. Bee,
and I were out hunting one day, and ran upon two little puppies. They
were the
cutest things. They told us their names were Buck, and Gypsy. They
moved in with
two old fellows that lived up the road. They had ventured to far in the
forest , and
were lost!"
Miss. Bee bless her heart took them home with her, and let them eat her
supper. But
that was her nature. She was always helping some critter. If I don't
find her by
morning, I'm going calling on those two, and see if they will help me
search for
her!
*********
Miss. Bee knew her days were numbered! That old coonhound was digging
with
both feet! She heard, someone yell! She listened, it was the coonhounds
master. He
asked, "what you got their boy?" He moved the log; "oh, my it's a
kitty," he said.
The coonhound ran up to Miss. Bee with its teeth showing, and it's hair
sticking up
on its back. Miss. Bee gave off a hissing sound. The coonhound jumped
back!
The man reached down, and picked her up, you are the cutest thing," he
mumbled.
Miss. Bee let out a squeal! He said, "Oh, you're hurt!" He yelled,
"Ritz" lets get this
little thing home, and fix her legs." He patted the coonhound head, and
it jumped
up on his leg.
I gave off another one of my threaten sounds. The old boy backed off,
and started
barking again. I thought, "he sure had a big mouth to match his big
feet!"
The man scolded him, and he followed along behind us. I looked back at
him, and
smiled, and cuddled closer to his master. The man said, "you don't have
to worry
about your foot I'm a vet." I'll fix you up as soon as I get you
home.
Miss. Bee thought, "A what!" She rolled her eyes, and looked up at him.
She
thought, "he's a lot nicer than that last old man."
When we got to his truck he, put Miss. Bee in the front seat, and
covered her up with an
old towel. He said, "you stay here girl, and I'll put Ritz in his cage
in the back." I
chuckled, I thought that was the oddest thing. Here's this big spoiled
dog, with a
big fancy collar, riding in the back in a cage. I bet he is very
upset!
********
George ran into the woods the rain had stopped. He looked everywhere.
He was
about ready to leave. Then he spotted the plastic bag the old fancy
cats master had
stuffed her in. George ran over to it. He could smell her scent in the
bag.
"Miss. Bee" George called, "where are you?!" He spotted a man
footprints, and big
dogs prints in the mud. George noticed the dog had been digging under a
stump. He
could smell Miss. Bee on the leaves. He decided to follow the prints.
They led
beyond the forest in a clearing.
George stared at the tire prints. His heart ached he, set down on the
ground, and
looked down the road. The tears begin to roll down his cheeks, and he
thought,
"Miss. Bee" my, wonderful friend what have they done with you?
