PAPER GAZES.

You will find me unresponsive
because my heart is underdone.
My eyes have never shed a tear
and my lips will only shun
the slightest quiver of emotion
in favour of a firm resolve.
You will not witness such lamenting
because my world does not revolve
around the numerous emotions
found beneath the skin of girls
who have delicate persuasions
entwined in flowing curls
that veil a myriad of secrets,
just like the ones you hid from me
because you knew a concrete manner
entombed an insecurity.
You will not coax one single tear
from ambiguous green eyes,
nor will you witness the destruction
brought about by long goodbyes,
for I can only cry in private
and I will only call your name
in front of fading paper gazes
from within a picture frame.
