SARAH SURRENDER.

There's something wrong with Sarah.
The way she bites her tongue.
The way she smiles and ridicules -
when anything goes wrong.
The way she knows the telephone -
is just about to ring.
The way the heavens darken,
whenever Sarah sings.
Shadows clear a path for her -
whenever she walks by.
She has the look of drowning,
behind her deep blue eyes.
And coming up to take a breath,
just wouldn't be her way.
Content to sit in turmoil -
forever and a day.
The back of class, her refuge.
She speaks when spoken to.
But no one bothers Sarah.
They've seen what she can do.
I watch her from a distance,
whenever I'm asleep.
She always makes appearances
as darkness slowly creeps.
The corner of my minds eye.
Sarah fills my view.
My omni-present past time.
Surrendering to you.
