In Uncertainty

I watch you cry, I don't know why.
Helios: you and your personal labyrinth, not knowing which way to turn.
One will lead to bliss, the other to your choice of urn. They say if
you go straight, you will miss all of the fun.
But I can see you do not listen to me. You are thinking you will
run.
I'm feeling oddly detatched. I've never seen you this way before, with
eyes that do not mirror mine.
Do you think we'll falter and crumble away? Tattered pieces of
yesterday. Do you think that we'll remember? Do you think we'll have
regret?
Hold on, I'm just gonna light my cigarette.
Now what is it you were saying again? Don't start at the beginning,
start at the end.
I never was much of a friend.
And you choke, and stumble on struggling words, in a voice such as I
have never heard...I don't like it's arid sound, it's desperation to
hit the ground...
Cos there you think you will be "safe" again.
Do you think that we can pretend? That you are not confused? That you
know the path you'll choose will make you a fuller man? In the doorway,
I will stand.
And I will always wait for you.
Into the ashtray, my legacy will remain, scattered dust of unwanted
pain and memories that'll never fade...no matter how forgetful is the
rain.
