Whilst I am vulnerable when faced with my reflection
Tongue-tied, stumbling through the maze of emotion
Stirrings so long kept at bay
Awakening out of my carefully constructed chrysalis
You alone, a chance encounter, have brought me to this
An uncanny ability you possess
To get under the skin covering this fragile frame
Staying power in your gentle persistence
Encouraging without words, breaking down my resistance
Encircling me patiently
With the radiance of your energy
Caching me in moments unaware
Taking me to the brink, though I dare
Not cross that invisible boundary
Too enchained in sensitivity
Content to wait a little while longer
Until I feel stronger
Need to lose that part of me
That always expects a rejection
