My daily ballad of a half weekend
In the ink bottle circle
Where the white buses beached
You met me there in yellow pools
And shared a row of seats
We laughed on the macadam journey
Your eyes secretly followed me
When you thought I didn't notice
In the midst of a musical note
The dust that clouded my eyes
And the cold that haunted the air
Didn't stop your smile, your touch
From holding me near to you
In the clutter of a food hall
Your shy move gave you away
Across the board we shared a joke
There was no one there but us
Even rain clouds couldn't stop
The fun we had just walking around
In perfume scents and candle lights
And rings that held my heart
But even your broken arm
Couldn't save you from your ex
She rent my perfect sky in two
You left me in the darkness once again
Stuck in the middle you lean to the left
Where the jealous moon lies waiting
To break you're broken heart again
As if once weren't enough
And the silence that reins over us
Hurts more than any words ever could
Your eyes are cold; your jokes are gone
My memories are all that's left of you
I've said before that I'll walk away
But words are easier to say than do
So in my room I'll cry for you
For the things we never really had
