Belong?

Been wondering me
What it means to belong
To belong with another
To belong with the throng
Is it a feeling
Or is it a fact
Is it commitment
Or is it a pact
Is it together
Or even maybe apart
Does belong have a place
Even in the coldest of hearts
Is belong just a falsehood
Or then, perhaps, is it real
Does belong have much more
Than just a strength in ideals
Is it contentment
Or a missed when im gone
One thing seems certain
You can't belong on your own
A with, not without
To be in the right place
To belong has a smile
Drawn upon even the saddest face
Belongs not a you, nor a me, nor a them
Nor an us, not exclusive, no, not even a game
Belong's not possession, hold onto, or mine
But belong's more a freedom, within and sublime.
