BROKEN WINGS
Oh to be alive and free, and able to soar the sky
Not to be trapped by anything,or one, passing it all by.
All that space,liberty;heavenly sanctuaries everywhere
Being unattached.and not having a worldly care.
But I am attached by captivating bonds of love
No peace-no representation of a white dove.
Destiny finds our worlds separated,as strangers,we live apart
For you hold no love for me in your concealed heart.
The emptiness within creates just a hollow shell
Yet my love goes on,like a bottomless well.
My wings are becoming more withered and torn each day
The essence of life fading, and slipping away.
I can only sit and watch this hasty world go by
Surrendering all that I was-surely now I'll die?
Broken wings,no desire or strength to carry on
Such thoughts, despair,I know are surely wrong.
But perhaps leaving this all behind, one lonely night
I shall again be free,I shall once again take flight.
