Know Yourself

Walk a mile in my shoes,
If you want to know how I feel.
Watch the sun set behind the mountains,
If you want to know what I see.
Hold a baby in your arms,
If you want to know how I love.
Eat bread and drink water,
If you want to know how I live.
Taste the polluted air,
If you want to know how I breath.
Listen to the music of the land,
If you want to know what I hear.
Watch the deer on the plain,
If you want to know what I sense.
Be like the child in school,
If you want to know the meaning of the lessons.
Think like the wolf and listen,
If you want to know what I teach.
Search within your heart,
If you want to know about my life.
Open your mind and close your eyes,
If you want to know my dreams.
Walk the soft earth,
If you want to be like me.
Seek the truth and learn,
That life is there for you to take.
But only if you give without thought,
For each person makes their own life.
Know yourself,
To know how I feel.
Know your past,
To know how I was.
Know your destiny,
To know what I became.
Know me as I am,
To know you are the same.
Face the world as a person,
Who knows the truth.
