There is a visitor among the tulips
And I'm quite sure, no, positive
That sticking-out-of-the-earth
(Like a thumb) leafly impostor
Has landed in my garden, from a tree
Far, far away, above the violet border
Of dawn, beyond the stars, that hundreds
Of tiny limbs tend to in a glorious vibration
Of space, and it has come here
To sprout, and grow, and burst,
To hide its eggs in ears and azaleas
Beneath exoskeletons, in birds' nests,
(or, in the dirt underneath your fingernails,)
And at the green feeling of a rainbow
They will excite into a swelling ovation
An exaltation of the glory of a terrible god,
Bearing the wonder that will end the world.
Or perhaps it's just a terrible dream.

Slightly bizarre, but very
Slightly bizarre, but very good. I'll keep a closer eye on my garden from now on.
