Memories invade and I surrender to a
thunderous silence, it's force intoxicating
The sweet smell of silage, brown feet
dangling in sun-drenched water
The first grip of fervor's embrace,
ceremonial clangor lending me new fortitude;
Life's long wait for them to discover me
finally endulged
Absence of light, stillness of life
and the hand in the near distance
Having been there, waiting from the outset
for my hand outreached in return
I unable to whisper, unable to answer
in no way accepting faithful offerings
Long awaited treasures now flood my core,
irony telling me our reunion will forever be,
Always reminding how strangely beautiful
life was, but always was. . .
