Dusty Dreams

Curled in a corner's darkness;
Cobwebs creeping in my mind.
A mind unused and grown old,
As I seek illusion of safety.
Truth -- time and again ignored;
An existence in shadows of fear.
Hardly a life, barely living; my dreams,
Pressed out of my thoughts.
My own dreams, my destiny,
Once shining so bright, nearly blinding;
Dreams buried so long, too long!
Covered in dust and uncertainty.
Only I can struggle to stand;
To dig my dreams from their grave.
The first step, no matter what size,
One step closer to defeating my doubts.
