I stood, thinking of you -
while tenderly stroking the bar of chocolate
(butterscotch, Co-op and Fair Trade)
that I'd bought for the Buddhists -
for a full minute.
Then I thought,
'to hell with it - today I've cleaned the windows,
tidied the porch and swept the stairs down.'
So I ate it.
But don't worry -
I bought two, so the Buddhists will have chocolate
(dark, with roasted hazelnuts, Co-op and Fair Trade).
