Strange things occur in the hospital wards
Stranger still in the animal world.
Unexplained by science, logic or bards,
Situations abound in which humans are hurled,
To face the dark forces so terrifying that&;#8230;
Mortal humans must combat the cruel Dracucat,
He came into their lives on a hot summer day,
Admitted to North Rockville, called VCA.
Just like any of hundreds seen by the crew
For a routine exam and some shots that were due.
He was treated by Vickey, assisted by Ron
While the doctors and other techs calmly looked on.
The case was routine, they did dozens a week
But they didn't know this was something unique.
She was ex-Army Ranger, fearing no man or beast,
Who could handle the meanest dog with just a leash.
She held the black feline with a hand on the scruff,
In a no nonsense voice said, "Don't make me get tough."
Then havoc erupted. A black furry streak
Spun out of her grasp and he sunk in his teeth!
He chewed and he clawed in a whirlwind of gore,
'Til the severed right arm lay detached on the floor.
A bright wash of crimson arterial blood
Covered the room in a most gruesome flood.
Vickey looked at her arm with no outward distress;
Looked down at the floor and said, "Damn, what a mess."
Ron and Andy jumped in to control hemorrhaging.
Dr. White bravely tried to recapture the thing.
Dracucat sat in the corner and smiled
As is saying, "I'm full. I'll behave for awhile."
Renee showed up with keys then, to offer to drive
Vickey down to the hospital. "We'll get there alive.
Since the weather is nice and the traffic is spotty
We'll be there in a minute in my Masaratti."
The prognosis was good and the arm reattached.
Vickey went to the clinic to deal with the cat.
"I must face my Nemesis." She courageously said.
"When the sun sets tonight one of us will be dead."
That was ten years ago and the clinic is gone.
The people involved in the tale have moved on.
The only sign left of the conflict recalled,
Is the stuffed head of Dracucat on Vickey's wall.
