The Poet's Tears

The poet cried
and the people sighed
and marvelled at the beauty of his tears.
The poet's heart
all but fell apart,
they stood awed, as he showed them their fears.
There was a shout,
as they tumbled out;
how is it, you see into our minds?
The poet said,
it's your tears I shed
search your souls, it is what you will find
