Kensington Park In October
Strolling on the edge of luxury,
Neither hungry nor thirsty.
A chocolate truffle-flavoured joint
Might perhaps suffice, but I'm just
Ready.
A dark fly-past of geese,
While in the trees, green leaves
Wave their Broadway welcome.
Distant passers-by pad out the silence,
As you talk about those
Chinese comics, Yin and
Yang.
Distracting my gaze from a statue,
Of a muscle-bound man, who
Doesn't look a bit like Peter Pan.
Joggers supplement their lives,
I dig my hand into her side.
'It was just a kiss, not a bite.'
She replies.
