Not Tonight Josephine
Tonight, my love
shall we leave this place?
Shall we run ungainly hand to hand,
sandals slapping on marble floors?
Shall we tweak the cheeks of generals
and smear and smudge the glassy walls?
Shall we wade through dunes and
whoop and shout in oily silent sea?
Shall we love and sigh and kiss
and roll our sweaty bodies in the sand?
Shall we tumble through the universe,
swing from stars and find the child within?
Then
shall we whisper dreams and hopes and fears
and cry and curl and sleep?
Tonight, my love
shall we leave this place?
