Isis Lives

I hid when I saw Isis walk amongst the sacred dead
I was sure she never saw me as she shook her troubled head
And as she turned her countenance to-wards the
cold night sky
I felt the touch of her shroud white robe as she passed me by
She stepped as if on mercury and never made a sound
Gliding to a moonlit segment on that hallowed ground
Frozen in a moment Isis bore her arms up high
And with a plaintive litany she began to cry
Osiris Osiris where are you my Lord
Have you left me here on earth never yet to die?
She gazed upon Orion, Sirius there to find
And moon dew tears fell to the earth as Seth came to her mind
A Scarab cloud teased away the moons last bright show
And back to darkness night did go
And I left once more alone
Except for a faint, yet timeless moan.
