you paint in languages on my screams
spirit place in uniform;
chains high, taut
splayed across the moon
dividing moonlight.
links clink, wrists bruise
slip between howls
and begin the dance
upon knife's edge.
veils ignite, dark shining
beckoning to the voice of shadows
tighten the shackles
as there is where you will find me.
