When the world looks at you
what can wondering eyes see
shadows of sullen satire
dreams laced with misery
does a shining star appear
illuminating endlessly the nights
a bright, illustrious soul
emitting hope, faith and light
clueless . . .
we walk the lines of destiny
uncertain of tomorrow's fate
clinging to our spiritual song
we strive to grasp the golden gate
life . . .
to some is but a sweet charade
I am reminded of the price once paid
why utter the words . . . wield them so unclear
when naive minds predict an end so near
while the world sets eyes on you
walk in love . . . speak of peace
for when life is done . . . fate has begun
the uncertainty . . . silently ceased.
