To that time when we flirted until it got dark
From that time when we talked for hours in the park
In between, when we watched Dawson's Creek in your room
And when we mused why the sky was so blue
Through all the mood-swings and thought parallels
Through all the times when I got back from Hell
We felt the same, a mutual bond
It didn't break, it just reached the end
If I died tomorrow, I'm sure I'd regret
Not seeing your future, nor watching you grow
You see, I still care, though it may not seem so
Making you hurt was so far from my mind
My impossible dream was to blame for this time
But
As you know
I'm no good for you
"A caged bird", you said
So I'm letting you go.
You know I wont forget
A single one of our days
Because, despite it all
We were not a waste.
