Indian War

THE INDIAN WAR.

"Bang!" the war had started.
Across the River Ganges the canon had fired from Rajah Flint's
houseboat. Suddenly there was a loud shake ; the ground was beginning
to move. Rajah Flint came out of his houseboat and started to shake his
fist to what looked like a wild rhino.
Rajah Flint was a really cruel person. He treated everybody like a
piece of dirt and himself like he was the king of the world. He wore
the same thing every day, a stripy blue and red t-shirt and a pair of
ripped navy blue trousers. The pirate had cold black eyes and jet black
hair with ears that stuck out like a monkey's. Flint only had a mum and
a brother whom he never talked about. On top of that he a wife who died
a year ago, and he never talked about her either. In fact he didn't
talk to anyone at all. Rajah lived on his own in a wooden houseboat
painted in big red and black letters it said "FLINT'S WAR SHIP."
"Bang!" another canon had gone off, this time from land. Durga had
fired it .
Durga was a cheeky girl. She too had a canon even though she was only
13. She had a gang of her own. Kiki from India, Nancy from England,
Chie-chie from Hong Kong and Le-li from Hawaii. Her gang went around
firing canons. Durga wore a blue shirt, ripped red trousers and a red
bandana. She lived with Kiki, Nancy, Chie -che and Le-li in a house on
the river bank.
Every body in her gang - Ganges - wanted to go to war against Rajah
Flint, so the two bravest people Durga and Nancy wrote a letter, put it
in the canon and fired. Luckily it landed on the deck of his boat. Then
he threw a letter back and it landed on the Indian Rock Python. Very
quietly Durga took the letter from the snake and opened it. Everybody
knew not to declare war alone but nobody cared. The war had
started.
Bang, Bang, Bang
"Well done Durga," shouted Le-li "straight in the side."
Bang, Bang, Bang!
"Straight at them," cheered Captain Flint (that is what he liked to be
called.) People started crowding round the river.
"Bother" whispered Che-che. Two more bangs went off and then suddenly
Rajah Flint's houseboat started sinking. Every one knew there were
sharks in the river; everyone knew they were man eating sharks.
Suddenly there was a loud noise.
"Hooray, yeah," everyone on the river side was cheering very loud and
in no time at all the whole boat was sunk and sharks were swimming
around captain Flint.
Then Durga and the gang were lifted on the roof of their house and
everyone started clapping really loudly. Everybody quietened down, the
Ganges made a speech and a siren started coming nearer and nearer and
much louder. A man standing on the roof of a white police car was
saying, "move out of the way. Mister Flint you are cornered!
surrender!" he was saying it through a load speaker. Police cars were
lining up around the bank. A boat went out to rescue Rajah Flint.
"Hey what are you doing to me, stay away you should be sending them to
jail not me. They were firing canon balls at my boat so that's why it
sunk." But no body was listening, not even the police. The only people
who were listening were his mum Sara and his brother Restro. Every one
else had nearly disappeared, everyone apart from the Ganges, Rajah and
all the police.
Mr. Flint was sentenced to jail for 5 years, but that was going to
change! He had only been in jail for 2 weeks but he had made an
escaping plan. There was a trap door up on the roof of his cell. He
would climb through it and out of the window. The windows lead to the
ground but it was 40 feet high above the ground. The problem was that
on the night of the escape he got so excited that he got caught so he
was put 20 foot higher. At least there was a trap door on the roof. He
managed to get up the trap door without getting caught, which was
fortunate. Then he climbed out of the window and slowly finding his
footing, came down 60 feet. He cut himself a few times but his injuries
didn't stop him. When he got back it was very early in the
morning.
At 9:00am he went to find a swim suit for free (because he dressed in
disguise). He put it on and dived into the River Ganges. He wanted to
carry on with the Indian war, so he went down to find his canon, except
the Ganges had taken it. He looked for his chest where he kept his
money but that too had been taken. The War was over. The Ganges had
been busy deciding what to call the war. In the end they called it the
Indian War. As for Rajah Flint he was found out and was sentenced to
prison for life. The Ganges got a reward and their own house which they
called the Ganges.
