Above humanity (We raise ourselves to high)

I have just read Anita Roddick's posted article 'Activist'. Her
final sentence hit me hard where she wrote, "So that's it - when I
fight, I'm free."
Her reference to the famous photo of the Vietnamese child running in
terror - napalmed, prompts me to post one of my pieces which was also
inspired by that picture.
I think Anita is really saying that when she fights, she is fighting
'apathy'. In my opinion apathy is one of mankind's greatest
oppresors.
Also, this makes me realise how inadequate words can be. Anita's
posting serves as a great reality check.
We Raise Ourselves Too High .
(above humanity)
We, who weave with wanton wordliness -
to display our 'skills' or 'songs'.
To touch or titillate emotions -
to impress with our prosaic prowess :
Flaunting our 'hard-earned eloquence' (nothing-in-the-wind) -
To make you muse or ponder?
To make you laugh? - our entertaining
To take you to our hearts
or on sweet journeys gently.
And some to share our (my shallow)
(?) deeper depths -
But where i falter -
a failure i shall shuffle to my
shallow end - and
Assuming you would not avert
your open-minded eyes (?).
To life's pointed finger ("Priorities pitiful poet!"),
How does one we wordless warriors
convey :
The unquestioning
naivet?
in the Eyes (soul naked)
of
an
unloved child?
