My head slots into your lap
Ocean waves into coastal rock
Resting on a freedom from our past together
A comfort earned
Through years of labour
Dull shovels
Excavating what can be saved
From our years forming unstable structures
A joint belief that we could work
Without romance
On leftover love
That we could fit back into our erosion
With new eyes.
