"Goodbye innocence
And you don't weep
As the stork reclaims
What is his to keep
Your father, however,
Is not so calm
When he hears you moan
He sets off like a bomb
He pounds at your door
With a massive fist
Your boyfriend is wishing
He didn't exist
You button your pants
And throw on a bra
You undo the latch
And turn to face Pa
It's suddenly cold
You're weak in the knee
You look up at dad
With a glance that's a plea
A shudder runs through you-
It's no longer of fear
But of wonder at a cheek
On which glistens a tear
Pa looks at his girl-
How she has grown-
He realizes sadly
She's no longer his own
Your father retreats
Your man soothes you
A bittersweet end
To your intimate debut
