Jealous of the Ignorant.

How can I look into your eyes,
And tell you such truths?
That will surely break you,
Or draw you away,
I fear loosing you,
I fear the pain that follows,
Why do I have to tell you?
Your eyes close to tears,
How can I ignore this?
Your silent pleas boring into my soul,
Why did I have to find out?
The messenger of death,
The certain doom that follows,
That no one can escape,
Ignorance was blissful,
As I could never see,
I wish I held such peace,
Such innocence,
You never know how good it was,
Until you let it go,
My blanket of ignorance,
That once kept me safe,
Is now no more,
But it is too late,
I hear the clock ticking,
Each tick counting down,
Like a bomb pending to explode,
It is over now anyway,
It is over,
At least,
For me.
