A battle is looming, across this land,
Discontent growing, and getting out of hand.
The nation insist, the councils are to blame.
Their rules are disgraceful, and bring such shame.
Bin collections changed, to every two weeks,
With refuse festering, and starting to reek.
But the council say, recycle you must
‘There’s too much rubbish, in the collections for us.’
The people say that the bins they attract,
‘Flies & maggots, such a stink and there’s rats!’
DEFRA agree, the situation not ideal.
‘It’s not good for the rats.’ The RSPCA feel.
Folk are afraid to open wheelies and their hold.
A public health hazard, they are told.
Food decomposes in a bacterial soup,
Forcing the public, to form action groups.
Exeter bin men, are armed with yellow cards.
They hand them out, to those who disregard.
‘Co-mingled waste, we cannot allow.’
‘Look, plastic with plastic. Take that metal out now.’
‘The people must be educated.’ Exeter Council say.
‘We issued 20 yellow cards, just the other day.’
Pay-as-you-throw, with micro-chipped bins.
An Orwellian society, the government brings.
27 million tons, of rubbish each year.
Drowning in the stuff, is something I fear.
Yes, we must recycle, we know this is true.
With waste set to double, by 2022.
The easiest way, is to stop it of course.
Forbid companies, to make rubbish at source.
But experts will decide, what is or isn’t tat.
More levels of money making, well fancy that!
The answer we have, but cannot face.
So the battle commences, hold tight and brace.
A stroke of genius, making money this way.
Simply blaming the public, and making them pay.
The Battle of the Bins, is coming soon.
A good year to go, and inhabit the moon.
Co’s down on earth, is covered in crap.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you, it’s time to fight back!
