Fear of the night

The fear at night
As we try to settle in for bed
I see it in their eyes
Oh dear, am I going to be left alone in the dark again
At night the fear they have and feel
but don't see
As the morning light ease their little minds
Oh how they're happy to see morning again
In the early day they have fun and play
As the night comes by, trying to sleep again
They tiptoe in my room with the fear
I wander if they realize when, I was small, I had that feeling same as
them
As I tell them this will get better and not worse for them.
That this fear will someday go and they will have children with this
fear of the night and they
will teach them how to grow from that fear, so they can sleep restful
again.
So dear children, remember this from way back when. So we can all sleep
restful again.
