You rested your head on my lap
And I played with your hair
Could've been t'other way round
I'm not sure
On 'British Rail' carriages
Reach'd 'Lidlington' and 'Bow Brickhill'
Thro' these memories
Some tribulations endure
Love embedded in my chest
But tired, and irritated
At times modernity
Is an intrusion
But thank you, and God bless
For our babies, and us
To me Hegelian concept
Is not an illusion
Throat and eyes in extremis
When tenderness prevail
Unlike others, in the news
Believe in concepts 'husband' and 'wife'
Everything as it is
Giv'n to two comedians
And thank you for my life
Thank you for my life
