Forest; Song of The Forest

A haunting music,
Plagues the air,
Sorrowful, haunting, gentle,
A quiet clearing,
Surrounded by trees.
Beautiful, quiet, still,
The music is the
Only sound, graceful,
Sad, forlorn, moving
Through the trees.
Haunting pain, loneliness,
Misery, with graceful airs.
A soft wind chills the air,
As the sun beats warmly down,
From a cloudless, blue sky,
The melody breathes,
Slipping through the air.
From deep inside the woods,
Where the trees are taller,
Thicker, greener. Where the
Air is warm and shady,
Filled with silence so
Thick, a leaf could slice
It in half. From deep
Within this mottled green,
There comes a creature.
Human-like, flesh pale,
And bloodless white.
Hair as black as coal,
Dressed to match, black
As evil as his heart,
Thin red lips that hide
The teeth, shocking pearly white,
Eyes so dark they freeze,
Human flesh, in fear forever
Preserved. He moves,
Each step in time with
The music, his presence,
Adding to the melody.
He steps into the
Clearing, with dark
Authority. The music
Grows in depth,
New tone added by
His footsteps, new parts
Of melody. He stops.
His pale, long, bloodless
Fingers, closing over a
Flower, then, with one
Sweeping rip, he tears
Off its innocent, coloured head.
A high, piercing, terror filled note,
Rings though the forlorn lament,
A squeal of pain and fear.
And with this note,
Laughter begins in the trees,
Light, pale green, that
Lace the edges of this place,
The sounds of joy,
Rips though the tune,
Enveloping the pain.
Then, into the clearing
Pours a thousand merry
Beings, fair in joy and
Fair in innocence, laughing
As they skip. They
Surround the black and
Evil being, half the height
Of him. They kindly take
His bony hands, and
Lead him away, back
To where he came from.
He doesn't attempt to stay,
Walking with the gentle good,
As quiet and gentle as a lamb.
Their laughter mingles
With the music,
Turning the grief to joy.
This gentle place of
Sanctity, goes back
To its peaceful quiet,
Only ringing with joy and love,
Instead of grief and pain.
A new song chimes away.
