Police Interview with Joe Garrison;

Torres: What do you do?

Garrison: Cook. I do everything.

Torres: Who brought the girls to the boat?

Garrison: Travis, Ricardo, Mr Clancy and I carried one to the boat.

Torres: Were they gagged?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: Was Mr Paul Clancy on the boat?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: Did he talk to the girls?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: What did he say?

Garrison: He said he’ll kill them.

Torres: They were tied down, how?

Garrison: With tape, hands, legs, mouth.

Torres: Whose gun were you holding?

Garrison: Mr Clancy’s.

Torres: Is it always on the boat?

Garrison: No sir.

Torres: Why did you open the door with a gun?

Garrison: Captain called on the radio. Says, he wants to know where they left the Bronco. Says, I make them talk.

Torres: Were you in the van?

Garrison: No sir.

Torres: Who do you think would drive the van?

Garrison: Mr Clancy, sir.

Torres: Do you know Travis and Ricardo?

Garrison: Yes sir. Mechanics.

Torres: What did Mr Clancy tell you to do with the girls?

Garrison: He tell me to take the boat out to Croaker Hole.

Torres: With the girls?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: They were kidnapped. Do you know that?

Garrison: No sir. I wasn’t thinking like that.

Torres: How long have you been working for Mr Clancy?

Garrison: Two years.

Torres: Do you come to Corpus Christi?

Garrison: First time.

Torres: How do you know Croaker Hole.

Garrison: Captain showed me where to go.

Torres: You were alone on the boat navigating?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: How long have you been in Packery Channel?

Garrison: Three months.

Torres: Where were you before that?

Garrison: Beaufort, I was born there.

Torres: Do you know Miss Linda Linz?

Garrison: I have seen that lady. She does not come to the boat.

Torres: What did Mr Paul Clancy want you to do once you reach Croaker Hole?

Garrison: Wait for Travis.

Torres: Explain!

Garrison: Travis and Ricardo come in the van to Mustang Island. I take the dinghy ashore to bring them to the boat.

Torres: Why?

Garrison: I don’t know. Maybe they want to lose the girls.

Torres: Do you know that Mr Clancy wants to kill them?

Garrison: No sir. I don’t think he will kill them. Mr Clancy was holding the gun pointed at the girls. I saw. I think he frighten them. He said he wants to make a deal.

Torres: What kind of deal?

Garrison: (Joe smiled to show his white teeth) A million bucks to the girls.

Torres: Doing what?

Garrison: I don’t know. That he said, ‘he come to make a deal’.

Torres: When and where he comes…in Mustang Island?

Garrison: I don’t know, sir.

Torres: Did you see him hit the girls?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: What do you think about that?

Garrison: Captain drinks. He’s sometimes violent, shaky, dehydrated.

Torres: Was he angry?

Garrison: No sir.

Torres: Was he carrying anything beside the gun?

Garrison: I think yes, like a pocket camera.

Torres: Last two years, where do you travel in the boat?

Garrison: Between Charleston and Beaufort mostly.

Torres: Did Mr Paul Clancy travel with you in the boat to Corpus Christi?

Garrison: Yes sir.

Torres: Look at these photos on the screen. Identify the people you know.

Garrison: Him.

Torres: His name?

Garrison: Mr Quinn.

Torres: How many times have you seen him and where?

Garrison: On the boat and at 69, six or seven times.

Torres: Mr Garrison, that girl gave you a very hard blow. She is a kickboxer.

Garrison: (He smiled) She tied my legs with my trunks.
