Fleeting Moments

Far and between those moments are,
Like stranded at sea and seeing land
But the currents are strong and pull me back
How I wish I could embrace that sand.
Those moments are so short
Yes, the happiest I have been
I feel warmth, happiness, hope and love
For that fleeting moment, I am seen.
But
These moments are fleeting
They never stay long
They arrive without warning
And leave with a sad song.
I want to capture them and make them mine
So I can feel those things forever
Why do they abandon me here all alone…
When we could be happy together?
They don’t like my sorry
That is why they never stay,
Maybe I am not worthy of their warmth
Maybe I should be left to decay.
I cherish those fleeting moments
It is comfort in the darkness
They light my way for a brief instant
Until I am left alone, starless.

I enjoyed that! a bit sad -
I enjoyed that! a bit sad - but still...
the last verse (stanza?) is a lovely finish to the piece.
