Stonehenge

The stones rose largely around me. Everyone had gathered inside the outer circle. Only the priests could be closer. The sacrifice was going on in the center. I could hear the screams but my position didn't allow me o see the person. Good thing. My sister shouldn't have been chosen. I couldn't do anything to stop it and I can't do anything to stop it now. Her body will soon be thrown in the outer ring like everyone elses before her. The screaming, more so begging, continued for an eternity it felt like. Right as the sun finally aligned with the arches, the real screaming began. Wailing then slaughtering. The priests always went in clean and always came out bloodied. This time was no different.
