The Broken Hearted

The rain poured down and drenched the perished earth
Surely, the whole world would drown this night
Had
my nemesis come to claim her bounty
Silence like a blanket
would find no warmth or comfort
In the wasted dreams of the
night
A glimmer of light beckoned me from a far off country
Sorrow had found no mercy in the hands of the clown
The jester wept bitterly as the empty coffin met the sunrise
Warm tears that cared for no one
Soft words were
spoken to the child
Sad eyes looked to the heavens
Would the saviour come tonight
Or would tomorrow
bring a release from man's prison bonds
The grass trembled as
the woman tried to find the path
Back to happiness once more
The king smiled surely this was a dream
A rainbow
had formed around her heart
The man stood on top of the
mountain
And watched the river, as its torrents ceased
The tears of the broken hearted had been washed out to sea
The gentle rays of the sun had healed all the broken hearted
