My Dear Alice
It has been such a time since I last wrote I thought I would pen you a
letter.
I trust you are in good health? I still have no word on my brother
Edward and I am growing sick with the worry of it. We had thought that
all was well, (he has done this many times) but for one week now there
has been no word from him. I hope he will soon come to his senses and
return to us. I understand the need for adventure in the young, but you
cannot help but fret for poor mother.
Are there any words yet between yourself and David? We all hope that
you can reconsile your differences and go forward, as you are surely
fated to be together. I believe the only person who does not see this
is yourself! You must see that such a man can bring you only
happiness.
Daisy is enjoying her new life away from home, much to the delight of
us. She has made many new friends and is continuing to show great
aptitude for the crafts, in particular painting. Father already has
designs on her becoming an artist, although i'm not certain what Daisy
herself would think of this. She has spoken to me on more than one
occasion about her plans, and I believe father is in for a great
disapointment!
As for myself, I am very much content. Timothy continues to be a kind
and gentle husband, and endears himself to my mother on an almost daily
basis. His manner is most refreshing compared to that which I am used
to. Dear Daisy, what have I done to deserve such a companion?!
I hope your family are well, and are in good health.
Love your cousin
Jane
