Stole
by Eilidh Cornish
No one took notice untill now.Now it's too late.Anyone could have
saved her anyone even I. Chelsea had long vivid red hair that was
tangled top to bottom. She had thick framed glasses and brown polished
shoes. Her uniform, unlike everyone else's was neat and clean.
Chelsea sat at the back of the class where no one could see her.I
thought she was quiet and shy.She was always hidden by a thick
book, classics like little woman usually.Everyone knew she was a
brainbox but she never put her hand up to answer questions,we knew this
because when our books were marked there was unlike eveyone else's a's
and excellents all over her work.
The day that I noticed her was when our class was assigned poetry work
and where due to recite it infront of the class.Mine was about the
usual rubbish like fairies and clouds. My friends think I am stupid to
still believe in fairies at the age of 13,but I couldn't care less
about what they thought.
Mrs.Jameson asked if that was everyone.Everyone was quiet, untill
Chelsea put her hand up and nervously stumbled infront of the class.I
thought I would listen to her unlike all my friends and class mates. She
started:it went like this,
One day when i see a girl like me .
I'll take her hand ans sing.
I would sing,a song to her.
One that fills her lonley
heart with joy.
One that would heal her half slit wrists.
One day maybe.maybe one day.
I looked at her hard, was she the girl in this poem? The bell then
rang.Everyone scrambled out of the class at the sign of home time.I
watched her get on her whit bike.My friends called after me to come
with them to Rosies house. But I said no.They asked me where I was
going.Claire rudley implied that i was going to look for faires.I just
laughed at her and got on my bike.
I followed Chelsea out of suspicion untill we eneded up at a crystle
blue lake. She sat at the end of a long, wooden fishing pier and got out
a red notebook. She was all alone apart from me.This was untill two
girls approached her.It was Lucy and Rosaline from the year
above.Chelsea turned round and emptied the money from her pocket. She
gave the money to the two girls, they laughed at the little amount of
money.Rosaline then pushed her into the lake and ran off.I ran to the
edge of the pier.I helped her up.She looked at me.One thick tear
started rolling down her cheek. How I wished I could wipe it away.
The end
