The Pixy Edge
In the old days
bronze axe days
stone days before
Rome
sent centurians
and maenads thundered on Anglesey
or sacrificed into peat bogs
criminals or Kings
Before Arthur became a legend
and returned Omfras laugh
There were small people
Pictish people covered in Woad
painted blue from head to foot
riding Dartmoor colts
and leading travellers
astray
They were pushed into Somerset
into Devon
and then into Cornwall or Wales
And all we ever see now
is a flash of blue
on a turning neck
