May

Month of fresh and shining shade,
glowing green of woods and glade.
From tiny eggs that had been hiding
over winter waiting, biding,
now larvae nibble tender food –
get fed themselves to nestling brood:
leaves and flowers for bugs and bees
bring busy bird life in the trees.
(Unlike 'January', 'February', and March', 'May' is not based on Eifion Wyn's 'Mai' [May] )

So perfect, this, Rhiannon.
So perfect, this, Rhiannon. So fresh, and new and green, and somehow hopeful in the continuation of things natural in creation.

Beautiful poem, and beautiful
Beautiful poem, and beautiful picture, Rhiannon.
You are so right in what you say. This is a very busy month for Mother Nature.
We are lucky this spring in that one of the wild ducks who frequents our pond has had a brood of nine ducklings. All going strong at present, and about three weeks old, so I'm touching wood at present, and hoping the fox stays at bay.
Really enjoyed your poem.

Hi Rhiannon
Lovely alliteration. A fresh and pleasant outlook, and lovely little poem.
