The Twins
Now at last, after a very long wait
The girls have got more room
Two little babes to two loving moms
Managed with just one womb.
Soraya, the elder, by minutes, two,
Weighs seven pounds ten ounces more
Aurora weighed less, still seven pounds five
Both inches one less than a score.
One mom acted as host for them both
And each mom an egg did provide
The same donor makes their father alike
'The other mom's doing his side.
While Blaire managed to hold them inside
Her muscles were strong and firm
She honed her insides as a rugby star
And carried the babes full term.
The girls had met with sports as their love
At soccer and rugby and laps
Now Carla's knee's ruined but she still goes
And follows each game and takes snaps.
T'was thirty years and several more
When Carla and Cathy her twin
Surprised my sister and shocked their dad
Now it's been done again.

I wonder when, at what age,
I wonder when, at what age, and how much the girls will want to know in the future as they grow up. Family trees are getting more complex. Rhiannon
