Can we all please stop caring,
Please stop sharing
Our views,
We don't know,
We can't know,
It has no bearing,
No truth.
What use are our opinions,
Our hopes and our dreams,
What use are our fears,
Our prejudices and our streams
Of consciousness...
That don't
quite
tie
together?
We don't know what will happen,
We don't know what's to come.
Our words are left floating,
For all to read,
Could it be worth it?

Interesting. I confess to
Interesting. I confess to having splurged on Facebook both before and after the referendum, and I have found it comforting to share views with others and hear what they say. But there's the rub, because most of the people I share stuff with think the same way I do, and I wonder if that's at least half of what's going wrong with our society. Individuals have always spouted wisdom and rubbish, usually to no great effect one way or the other, but now the feeling you can tell a breathless world about your latest emotion is a very heady one. But FB has also just enabled me to re-establish contact with a relative on the other side of the world, and put my mum back in touch with her brother, so I'm favourably disposed at the moment.
