The continental associations delivered excoriating, and very eloquent, condemnations of the scheme, even though they'd been offered millions as a bribe.

Senior FIFA officials did the same, and one resigned.

Even Trumpy refused to endorse it (although his family would have benefitted) by claiming he'd never heard of it.

So for once, just once, the greedy whats-in-it-for-me mob aren't ruling the world.  Or the World Cup.

Thanks Claudine !  Isn't it amazing ?  I thought it was a foregone conclusion that everyone would have dollar signs in their eyes.  But decency actually prevailed.  It did restore my hope in human nature, just a bit.

It wouldn't surprise me, I'm sure they'll turn their money making attentions to something. 

Thanks for reading !  TBH I don't know much about football but I was following this story, and couldn't believe it when somebody finally said No to Infantino and Infantissimus (how could he possibly not have known about it ? His daughter's brother-in-law was going to run it).

I don't think Infantino and Trump know much about football either.

I hope we get the same result with our Albanian island wildlife reserve.

Perhaps we could put all the world's billionaires on an island somewhere where people can go chasing after them on hunting safaris.
