Bells and Other Sorrows, IX

I sit and look
at the door I myself
closed against you
key still in hand
I sit
and look
and grip
the key a little
tighter.

Sweet Jesus all I want
is to hold you again.

If you rang the bell
I would fling the
door open
ere the chime
had even ended.
