Abnormal freeze

It was abnormal for Wilfred Midge to be anywhere but home, for he
was afraid of the cold, the dark, spiders, strangers and the heat. He
was the school bully, and he was a coward. But he enjoyed being a
bully. Because he was so small, nobody believed that he could be such a
bully, but it was true, he was a mean machine the size of a small bean.
But today it was different. Today he was surrounded by clouds of snow
that whirled down from a dirty-white sky that seemed to have no blue.
He did not quite understand how he got there. But as an old man grinned
at him with nought but slimey gums, he wondered whether he had
conquered the North Pole or not. He had secretly hoped this would be
the day that was called, 'The Day Midge Conquered The North Pole'. But
zooom, he was back in Math class, from his daydream, and the old man
with nought but gums was the headteacher, asking to see him and smiling
in a sour, lemon-sucking sort of way, talking about bullying policies.
But soooon he was back at the North Pole, with dark clouds over his
head, snow plummeting at him, and the old man grinning away like a
demon. Zooom, back to Earth, and there was the headteacher again,
smiling wryly and suspending him. And zooom, there went his dream, gone
forever, or at least until he fell into that daydream doze that seemed
only possible in the company of his headteacher.
