Pilots in the sky

Friday 16 August. Got a surgeon coming to see me in a moment so have
to be careful. They move swiftly these surgeons. Flouncing down the
corridors and into your office before you know it.
Have just handed in my notice, so that's only 19 more commutes now.
Hurrah! Think I should be able to manage that. Got a thumping headache
today. I wonder if a storm is brewing; I always get a headache before
thunder. This one started last night.
Mr Surgeon hasn't turned up so I'll continue shall I? Feeling tired and
hungry and still have a headache. Am fantasizing about a Pr?t a Manger
sandwich for lunch. I am wishing the day away, wishing it was 6.40pm
and I had arrived in Windsor, on the way home to Rug. 5 and a half
hours to go.
Surgeon still not bloody here. Have been cautiously reading some of the
last entries on abc tales. I find skytrucker's work quite interesting.
He writes about flying which reminds me of Rug as he has a pilot's
licence and we sometimes go up "for a little fly" as he says at the
weekends. I like skytrucker's description of his first Solo and that he
sang out loud, all on his own up in the sky. I wonder if Rug sang out
loud when he did his. I'm sure he at least spoke to himself with
congratulations; he's always chatting away to himself when he's on his
computer. Maybe he is in fact talking to himself when we're up in the
air, and all the time I assume he's talking to me and reply. How
freaky. Flying as a passenger is usually a bit scary, but also
thrilling. Sometimes it is boring when we just go over the local area
again. It's a great feeling going to meet someone and arriving by plane
though: "oh my private pilot flew me here don't you know"! When we
arrived at Shoreham once I stepped out feeling like a movie star, a
crowd of families watching me descend. I wondered if they thought we
were super-rich and it was our own plane. I'm not sure many movie stars
go to Shoreham though.
