Displacement

From a distance,
Which is less profound,
Static with measure
Division upon division.
In a surface
Looked only through,
From feelings anaerobic,
Phrases form geographic.
Fashioned, like a costume,
From a play not preformed.
The lost actors from the time before
Rehearsing lines from another play.
Esteeming the audience to considerate,
The looking out, the displaced,
The empty row.
We chose our place to watch our selves,
Laughing beamish introvert
Focusing on the lights,
That defines the phase,
In the lost theatre.
Where we just lecture
Under the dusty light.
