A Mixed Up Day

I was late getting home that afternoon. I had been gone for hours,
and all I wanted to do was relax for the remainder of the day. However,
I couldn't because I remembered I had an audition to go to. There was
this play, and I was going to try out for the starring role.
As soon as I got home, I got ready. I had to hurry because there wasn't
much time. The audition would be starting in about ten minutes.
I finished getting ready, grabbed my car keys, and headed out to my
car. I hadn't driven it in a few days, and I was hoping it would start
easily. However, it wouldn't start at all.
"Great. Now what do I do?" I asked myself out loud.
There was only one thing to do. I grabbed my car phone, but it wasn't
working either. This sure was some day. How on earth was I going to get
to that audition? I had no idea.
I got out of my car and went back into the house. I called a few
people, but none of them were home. This certainly wasn't my day.
I looked at my watch. I only had a few minutes left. I was going to
find a way to get to the audition somehow. I didn't care. I had waited
a lifetime for the chance, and nothing was going to stop me.
I did the only thing I could think of at that point. I left my house
and walked to the theater. It was a long walk, but I managed to get
there in time.
I walked inside, concentrated on my part, and forgot all about my
troubles. When my audition began, I left all my problems at home.
